Agilitas Sports has formalized a long-term partnership with Indian cricket icon Smriti Mandhana, marking a decisive shift toward the high-performance women’s category within its ONE8 ecosystem. This collaboration, announced on April 13, 2026, moves beyond traditional celebrity endorsements by integrating Mandhana directly into the product R&D process. As the Indian sports apparel market is projected to grow at a robust 15.45 per cent CAGR through 2034, Agilitas is leveraging Mandhana’s elite-athlete insights to co-create specialized performance and training gear. This ‘18 joins 18 alliance - referencing the jersey numbers of both Mandhana and Virat Kohli - aims to capture the rapidly expanding $2.91 billion sportswear segment by providing athlete-certified equipment tailored specifically for the Indian female physiology.
Vertical integration and high-street dominance
The partnership comes at a high-growth period for Agilitas, following its strategic acquisition of Mochiko, India’s leading sports footwear manufacturer. By maintaining a vertically integrated supply chain, Agilitas has achieved significant operational agility, reporting revenues in the $120 million range for the fiscal year ending March 2025. The company’s recent launch of ‘SportsYard,’ a 34,000-sq-ft big-box retail format in Bengaluru, serves as the primary testing ground for the Mandhana-led collections. Abhishek Ganguly, CEO, notes, this ecosystem allows the brand to reduce design-to-shelf lead times to just six weeks, effectively competing with global incumbents like Nike and Puma. This localized manufacturing capability ensures that high-performance products remain accessible while meeting the stringent technical requirements of high-intensity training and professional cricket.
Agilitas Sports is a vertically integrated sports platform founded by former Puma India leadership. The company manages the high-performance ONE8 brand and operates Mochiko, India's largest sports footwear manufacturer. With over $74 million in funding, Agilitas focuses on scaling its manufacturing-led retail ecosystem across metropolitan and Tier-II Indian markets to dominate the domestic sportswear sector.
