The Rs 95 crore funds raised by streetwear label Bonkers Corner in Series A funding round, will be used to launch 15-20 stores in the coming fiscal year, particularly targeting North India markets. The funding round was led by the India SME Investment Fund, with participation from Radhakrishna Ramnarain, Shark Tank India judge Namita Thapar, and a consortium of over 20 angel investors.
This capital infusion marks a pivotal milestone for the Mumbai-based brand, which has transitioned from a digital-first experiment into a prominent fixture within India's rapidly maturing streetwear landscape.
Scaling through experience-led retail
Industry analysts note, this shift is strategic; as digital customer acquisition costs (CAC) continue to rise, physical storefronts serve as critical community hubs that facilitate brand discovery and improve conversion through touch-and-feel experiences. By blending its robust digital backend with an expanding physical network, the company seeks to insulate its supply chain and enhance inventory visibility while capturing a larger share of the growing Gen-Z and millennial fashion demographic.
Strategic market positioning
The brand’s expansion occurs amidst intense competition in the domestic D2C space, where it faces significant pressure from established labels like Snitch and MyDesignation. To differentiate itself, Bonkers Corner has consistently utilized pop-culture collaborations and drop-led collections, which foster a sense of exclusivity and urgency among its core audience. With total operating revenue reported at Rs 123 crore for FY25 - a 23 per cent Y-o-Y increase - the brand maintains a focus on lean operational efficiency.
As the broader Indian apparel market projects growth toward $150 billion by 2030, Bonkers Corner is positioning its balance sheet to sustain high-growth momentum without compromising on its foundational design-forward ethos.
Founded in 2020 by Shubham Gupta, Bonkers Corner is a Mumbai-based, streetwear-focused fashion label. The company offers a diverse range of apparel including graphic T-shirts, hoodies, and co-ord sets. Known for its digital-first origin, the brand is now aggressively scaling through company-owned retail outlets while maintaining strong revenue growth and profitability.
