Festive apparel demand rises as manufacturers balance margin pressures

Indian apparel manufacturers are entering the peak festive trading period with heightened revenue expectations, underpinned by resilient domestic consumption and robust retail bookings. Recent industry data indicates, 52 per cent of apparel enterprises project year-on-year sales growth, while an additional 30 per cent anticipate matching previous performance levels. This momentum has been heavily reinforced by strong advance order commitments secured during major trade exhibitions, such as the National Garment Fairs. Consumer sentiment has responded favourably to stable macroeconomic indicators and a healthy monsoon season, notes Rahul Mehta, Chief Industry Spokesperson for domestic apparel trade federations.
