Plus-size fashion brand ‘All’ will showcase its latest collections for plus-size individuals at the upcoming edition of FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week in New Delhi.

The brand will also give an opportunity to plus-size models to walk the ramp at the event. Rajeev Singh, Business Head, says, All is the first fashion brand that celebrates beauty beyond size and since 2005, it has provided apparel and accessories for Plus, size men/women.

This year at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week, the brand is presenting its vision of beauty, style, and fashion through this platform.

Bridal fashion is becoming more sustainable with brides getting vocal for local.

They are now opting to buy only 10-15 pieces against 20-25 outfits bought earlier. They are practicing the concept of minimalism says Khushi Shah, Founder, Shanti Banaras, pioneers in Banarasi weaves.

Most designer brands are opting for recycled fabrics while making bridal trousseau, says Gaurang Batra, Director, Frontier Raas. Weddings with limited guests have made brides focus more on wedding silhouettes than on the wedding itself.

A new trend of designing wedding trousseau consisting of unorthodox hues and different styles, colors and fabrics is emerging, says Abhinav Mishra, Fashion Designer. Shirin Mann, Founder and Creative Head, Needledust, a designer jutti label, adds brides are going for the unconventional and bold colors.

They are also embracing family heirlooms, repurposing or restyling them in newer ways and going for more vibrant colors and designs, such as stripes or multi-resham work.

Most brides and families are adopting newer ways to embrace tradition.

They are opting for lighter weaves, brighter colors, prints in tie and dye, and abstract detailing. Dramatic silhouettes, veil dupattas, elaborate lehengas with trails, prints and gold are becoming widely popular amongst brides, adds Batra.

Kamal Haasan’s recently launched fashion line ‘KH House of Khaddar’ aims to uplift the lives of handloom weavers in India by modernizing Khadi to suit the youth’s sensibilities by presenting it in a chic new avatar.

Capitalizing on the favorable response from customers and critics, KH House of Khaddar was showcased at the Paris Fashion Week to putting a made in India brand on the global fashion map.

To create a brand that appealed to the youth using Khadi needed designs and colour palettes keeping today’s fashion and styles in mind and it wouldn’t have been possible without the brands co-founder, designer and stylist Amritha Ram.

The designer’s vision to give khadi a complete makeover that resonates with today’s fashion-forward men and women has contributed immensely to the brand’s popularity.

The brand dyed the khadi in pop colors for the event.

Newly launched sari brand by the Aditya Birla Group, Navyasa from Liva has roped in Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone as its brand ambassador.

The brand has launched four stores in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. It plans to expand its retail presence across the country in coming months. Rajnikant Sabnavis, Chief Marketing Officer, Grasim Industries says, the brand aims to make saris the preferred attire for Indian women.

The name has been coined from the two words ‘navya’ meaning new and ‘rasa’ denoting everything that the brand does, he adds. Designer Nanki adds the brand breaks the social stigma on saris being perceived as an attire for older women or occasional wear.

With versatile prints, it empowers women with a new freedom of expression; adventure, boldness. Created by designers Abir and Nanki, with the internal design team at Liva, Navyasa currently offers 17 collections in five different varieties of nature-based Liva fabrics.

The upcoming edition of Adaah Contemporary Fashion and Lifestyle Exhibition’s business-to-customer fair will be held from March 12 to 13 at the Flamingo Convention Centre in Hisar, Haryana.

The fair will feature product categories including women’s western, fusion, and ethnic wear, jewelry, accessories, home décor and home furnishings, gift items, etc..
