Garmenting exports rise by 50% as Raymond capitalizes on global sourcing shift

Raymond Lifestyle is leveraging international trade realignments to accelerate its overseas garmenting business, reporting a 50 per cent Y-o-Y revenue growth to Rs 296 crore for Q1 FY27. Buoyed by US-India tariff rationalization and the implementation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, the apparel major has successfully captured market share as global fashion buyers diversify sourcing away from China. This export momentum swung the garmenting division back into profitability with an EBITDA of Rs 22 crore, helping offset temporary domestic demand softness.

Capacity expansion meets fully booked order pipeline

To sustain this export-led growth, the company is executing a Rs 200 crore capital expenditure program designed to expand manufacturing capacity by over 10 million garments annually. The strategic focus on technical suiting and high-value outerwear has yielded an order book fully booked through December 2026.aGlobal fashion brands are prioritizing vertical integration and supply chain resilience," stated Sunil Kataria, Chief Executive Officer of Raymond Lifestyle. "Our capacity scaling directly positions Raymond as a primary manufacturing partner for Tier-I western retailers." With apparel exports emerging as a structural growth driver across South Asia, Raymond’s proactive capacity buildout provides a competitive moat against regional manufacturing rivals.
